UK Sales Manager

Brave New Spirits Ltd are seeking UK Sales Manager to join our team.

Purpose Of Role: To work closely with company colleagues, under the guidance of the Head of Sales, to develop & manage profitable sales for the Brave New Spirits portfolio of brands within the UK market, using your sales experience, and knowledge of the UK drinks trade to achieve sales growth.

As UK Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining successful trading relationships with accounts across multiple channels of the drinks trade, including independent retail, on-trade, route-to-market wholesale & e-commerce.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective sales plans to deliver UK targets
  • Work consultatively with existing accounts to maximise distribution & sales
  • Identify, evaluate & report on new market trends & new business opportunities
  • Negotiate & close agreements with key UK retail & on-trade accounts
  • Monitor account performance vs. budget
  • Manage promotional / activity budgets
  • Manage credit control functions
  • Identify, attend & develop key trade events (B2B & B2C, including tastings & training sessions, when required)
  • Acting as Ambassador for the company
  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive customer records
  • Gather & report on trade / market intelligence & competitor data, including information on new products, promotional activity & pricing
  • Assist and contribute to NPD projects with Sales, Marketing & Production team colleagues
  • Manage your own personal development to achieve your career & personal goals

Background Profile – the successful applicant should:

  • Have a strong understanding of the UK and International drinks trade, with a focus on Whisky & premium spirits
  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication, negotiation & relationship building skills
  • Be a strategic thinker, with the ability to develop & execute successful sales plans
  • Have experience of analysing and interpreting sales data & market trends to manage sales & budgets
  • Be self-motivated, results oriented & with the ability to work independently
  • Possess strong presentation and organisational skills
  • Have knowledge of relevant regulations & compliance within the drinks industry
  • Be proficient in IT, with the ability to learn quickly

Qualifications

  • Degree / HND / HNC in a business or commercial subject
  • At least 3 years experience gained in a sales environment, ideally within the premium spirits / Whisky sectors
  • Full, clean driving license is essential

Working Conditions:

  • This role is remote, but requires easy access to the company HQ in Glasgow
  • The role will involve frequent travel throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays away from home as required
  • The successful applicant will be required to attend trade events throughout the UK (and occasionally internationally), which may require evening or weekend working as necessitated by the business
