Senior Account Manager

Woodchester Valley Vineyard is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, experienced sales executive to join our team in the role of Senior Account Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the rapidly growing English wine industry. The role is to focus on expanding our existing customer base across our key priority areas of private clients, trade and local businesses working with our existing team. We are looking for someone who has the initiative and skill sets to expand and service our flagship Wine Club and our trade accounts.  The job will require an understanding of successful account management in B2B and D2C sales.  The right candidate will have several years’ experience in wine sales, have a passion for all things wine and have experience in hosting wine tastings. Relevant experience in the wine industry, WSET qualifications or equivalent will be required.  

 

Who We Are

Established in 2007 Woodchester Valley is a family run English vineyard and winery. Currently one of the largest vineyards in the South West with an annual production of over 100,000 plus bottles, growing year on year, we are located in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with our main base in South Woodchester. With 58 acres under vine, we focus on making quality still and sparkling wines, from grapes all grown on site and made in our winery. We have won multiple awards for our wines, including a ground breaking Master medal for our Sauvignon Blanc in the Global Sauvignon Blanc Masters in 2023. We have our own retail shop situated on the A46.  We run a busy schedule of tours and events year-round with approximately 10,000 visitors annually.  We have a range of guest accommodation on site- rooms and self-catering units.

The role and key responsibilities

In brief, the successful candidate will work alongside our existing team responsible for: –

  • managing and growing our existing portfolio of trade accounts (it is estimated that 40-50% of time will be spent on trade business)
  • growing our wine club and private client business (estimated 40-50% of time will be spent on D2C)
  • working with management on budgets and forecasts
  • reporting to management on performance
  • promoting excellent customer service and team spirit
  • conducting wine tastings and tours along with existing sales staff

Skills required:- 

  • experience of both B2B and B2C wine sales
  • Experience of working to targets
  • experience of selling wine through a variety of channels-email, F2F and by phone
  • ability to identify, prioritise and follow up on leads arising from our various sales channels
  • confident and willing to present to a group of visitors
  • experience of POS systems, working with database records, spreadsheets and back end of website
  • a hard-working, can-do attitude
  • excellent organisational skills
  • enthusiasm, adaptability, independence, confidence, team player
  • attention to detail, excellent written and spoken English for customer communications
  • WSET qualifications (or equivalent) and a passion for wine·

Hours

The role is full time. Location at the Vineyard and Winery based in South Woodchester.

Expected hours:  40 hours per week.

Schedule:  Monday to Friday (some weekends required for which time off in lieu is given)
