Regional Sales Director - London

Purpose of the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to drive our Premium Wine business across London and the South East through customer acquisition and retention and thus achieving the annual profit and cash flow targets. A deep understanding of the competitive landscape, supplier dynamics, and customer behaviours within the London On-Trade is important. Ensuring close operational alignment with the Bibendum team and more widely with our Customer Service and Logistics (CS&L) functions.

About the Role 

To lead the Bibendum On-Trade business in the delivery of annual Profit and cash-flow performance targets, using knowledge of the London market – competitor, supplier and customer activity.

Your role will be to support the wider C&C On-Trade business at the Exec level, through the development and implementation of a strategic plan for Premium Wine and Spirits growth across the London and South East markets. Leading by example to develop a positive culture within the organisation, whilst maintaining close operational alignment to our internal support functions.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Build and deliver an appropriate commercial strategy for the region based on market, competitor and structural insight to deliver outstanding customer experience.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the annual regional profit and cash plan through a multi-functional team, with analysis of performance and creation of appropriate action plans.
  • Leadership and development of the region through consistent and thorough application of people development and performance measurement frameworks, optimising the relationship between sales and operations, delivering on our core message “the experience matters”
  • Responsible for the monitoring and analysis of performance across sales and continue close working with operations. Working with central support functions to deliver against budget.
  • Ensure the creation of a positive working environment for all employees, consistent with C&C policies on health, safety, and employee welfare.
  • Working with the wider business to drive out lean practises and consistent customer experiences. This will sometimes require operating in a matrix environment

About you 

You will be able to read the pulse of the market to recruit and retain the best people. You will feel comfortable being the face of Bibendum with the trade and press and working alongside the England and Wales Sales Director to develop and implement the vision for the future.

You are an accomplished charismatic leader with a proven track record of guiding substantial teams in both functional and general management roles. Your expertise in driving commercial success is evidenced by a history of delivering profit and growth in previous positions. You excel at leading teams and implementing change alongside business-as-usual activities. With a strong commitment to people development, you have a history of nurturing talent at all levels, using a coaching approach to build a positive and growth-oriented culture. Your experience in navigating and winning in competitive environments, coupled with a deep understanding of the GB drinks industry, specifically wine, its competitive landscape, key players, and market dynamics, makes you well-equipped to excel in this role.
