Overview
Chateau Musar is seeking a Business Development Manager to work with our UK director of Sales & Marketing in supporting the continued development of the brand across the UK, alongside and in close coordination with our UK importer Fells.
This role offers a broad and evolving remit across sales activation, distributor engagement, and brand representation. It will suit a commercially minded wine professional looking to further develop their experience within a highly distinctive and heritage-led business.
You will play an integral role in supporting the execution of commercial and marketing activity with the company’s UK distributor Fells and under the guidance of the Sales & Marketing Director, while developing your responsibilities over time as you build experience and familiarity with the brand, its partners, and its ways of working.

Role Responsibilities
- Drive sales for Chateau Musar across the entire UK
- Support sales activation initiatives in collaboration with our UK distributor, Fells and other accounts.
- Identify, build a relationship and help generate sales with past, existing and new clients nationwide
- Plan and assist in executing marketing activity and brand initiatives in the UK market
- Contribute ideas to support the ongoing development and positioning of the Musar portfolio
- Host and support tastings, events, and customer engagement activity
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support logistics, planning, stock management and importer’s orders from the winery, and account activity
- Support the promotion and sale of both current and older vintages
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners

- Adaptable and comfortable working within an established business environment, under the initial guidance of an existing team and in collaboration with an importer’s sales team
- Willing to travel extensively around the country, expect to be on the road 3 days per week
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Positive and proactive mindset
Knowledgeable about Excel and numbers-friendly skillset
Experience & Background
- 3–6 years’ experience within the UK wine trade (sales, marketing, or commercial support roles)
- Good foundational wine knowledge (WSET or equivalent advantageous)
- Exposure to agency or distribution-led business models is beneficial
- Experience supporting customer-facing activity such as events, tastings, or account development

IMPORTANT:
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
You will need to own your own car (with the correct insurance cover) and have a valid UK Licence.
Chateau Musar Head Office is located in Bungay (near Norwich) and you will be expected to travel there for meetings and other business pruposes as required. In the inital phases of the role, you will need to spend more time at the office with the team as you learn more about the company and the role.
