National Account Manager – Contract Packing

Location: Hybrid (Northern England based). Currently operate on 3 days in Office, 2 Days WFH.
ROLE SUMMARY
The National Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day commercial management and development of a portfolio of contract packing customers. The role focuses on delivering volume, revenue and margin targets through effective account management, service delivery and identification of incremental growth opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Manage a portfolio of contract packing customers, acting as the primary commercial contact
– Build and maintain strong relationships across commercial, supply chain and technical teams
– Own forecasts, volume commitments and rolling account plans
– Manage pricing, budgeting and profitability across accounts
– Support contract renewals, SLAs and pricing frameworks
– Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
– Work closely with operations, planning and supply chain teams
– Coordinate SKU onboarding, format changes and production scheduling
– Monitor account performance and highlight risks/opportunities
– Act as first escalation point for customer issues and ensure resolution
NEW BUSINESS & GROWTH
– Support tenders, pitches and proposals
– Assist with onboarding of new customers
– Identify opportunities for additional services, formats or volumes
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
– Experience in a Commercial role within drinks manufacturing/bottling/packaging.
– Strong customer relationship and communication skills
– Commercial awareness with ability to manage pricing, volumes and margin
– Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and supply chain
– Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities
– Experience in contract packing / bottling or manufacturing environments
QUALIFICATIONS
– Degree or equivalent in Business, Economics or similar (desirable)
– Wine or drinks qualifications advantageous but not essential
– Strong Excel and general IT skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
– Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
– Confident interacting with senior stakeholders
– Self-motivated, adaptable and collaborative
– Full UK driving licence
SALARY & PACKAGE
- Salary: Up to £45’000
