Business Development Manager - Reading
Double-Barrelled Brewery are a young, fast moving, ambitious and exciting brewery, looking to expand our reach and add the new role of a business development manager to our team.
After years of growth focused regionally, this year we’ve launched into the grocery channel and opened up nationwide route to markets. The ideal candidate will have a ‘hunter’ and results driven mindset when it comes to sales, seeking out accounts across a broad range of customers, looking at opportunities within our established customer base and constantly pushing to achieve and exceed targets set for growth.
The role
Our new business development manager will be tasked with growing our customer base across our direct delivered and distributor routes to market, making use of the partnerships we have worked hard to nurture to date and building upon them as the role evolves and grows.
This role will be focused on the following:
- Research and identification of new business opportunities
- Generating leads designed to grow revenue and volume of beer sold, with a strong focus on our core range
- Nurturing and building relationships, to maximise our current customer base, and develop new customers both in our typical sales channels, as well as looking outside them to increase market penetration
- Forecasting growth and demand, to facilitate effective production planning
- Identifying trends in the market to support decision making processes on beer styles required to stay at the forefront of the industry
- P&L exposure to ensure maximum profitability for the business
- Building brand awareness and ROS within accounts
The role would primarily on the road around London & the South-East, but has scope to grow nationally.
The right candidate will show:
- A hunter mindset with a strong desire to seek out sales opportunities in all manner of circumstances and areas of the market, with a primary focus on growing London and national accounts.
- A proven track record of delivering business growth in fast paced environments
- Minimum 3 years sales experience in a B2B role focused on selling into hospitality or retail
- The ability to think and act strategically to achieve shared goals and targets
- Positive mindset and can do attitude – the ability to always find a solution through a challenge and keep pushing forwards
- Experience working within teams and people management
- Interest and passion in beer – able to sell in something that commands a premium, not just focused on price
