About Us
The English Wine Project is an award-winning English wine producer and consultancy founded in 2011. We work across vineyard management, winemaking, and education, and are proud custodians of one of the oldest vineyards in the UK, planted in 1972 at Renishaw Hall — widely regarded as the most historic and best-known vineyard in the Midlands and North of England.
The Role
This is a people-facing, outdoor-friendly role suited to someone who enjoys storytelling, hospitality, and sharing great wine. You will host two guided tours per day (12:00pm and 2:00pm), welcome guests, lead tours and tastings, manage set-up and close-down, and take ownership of the visitor experience.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be friendly, confident, reliable, and comfortable speaking to groups. A passion for wine, food, farming, or the outdoors is essential. Wine knowledge or WSET qualifications are desirable but not required. Full training will be provided, but we are looking for commitment for the full season.
Why This Role?
£20/hour for an enjoyable, sociable role. No late nights or split shifts. Work outdoors, represent English wine, and be part of a genuinely historic vineyard and winery. There is an opportunity to shape this role around you and your personality, I am not looking for a wine robot but a team member that fits with the ethos of what we do and who we are.
How to Apply
Please send a short CV and a brief note explaining which location you’re interested in, your availability, and why this role appeals to you. [email protected]
