Wine Preparation Team for Decanter World Wine Awards - Grays
We are recruiting new members to our wine preparation team for the upcoming Decanter World Wine Awards 2026.
Work will involve the systematic logging of bottles onto our online entry system (the same system used by judges during judging week). In order to do this strong wine knowledge is required as we need to check that the information (vintage/region/sub-region/residual sugar/oaking/alcohol/style/grape variety etc.) is relevant and accurate for the wine you are checking.
A keen attention to detail is also pivotal as you will be responsible for ensuring the ‘Producer Name’ and ‘Wine Name’ for each wine you check is grammatically correct, accurate to the information displayed on the label, and suitable for print.
The exact dates may vary according to the frequency of wine deliveries, but we expect the bulk of the preparation to take place over March & April 2026. This role is based at our DWWA warehouse in Grays, Essex.
Beyond these dates there may be further opportunities for the preparation team to continue working on the DWWA during judging week and remotely after the judging has been completed.

Ideally, candidates will hold the WSET Level 4 Diploma or an equivalent qualification, although we will certainly consider candidates who have passed the Level 3 and are studying toward, or are considering studying towards the Level 4.
A strong attention to detail is paramount, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and a basic level of IT proficiency.
We are looking for candidates who are able to work with us each day from Monday to Friday through the checking period but will consider applications from strong candidates with slightly limited availability.
There is ample parking on site, and for those travelling by train from London there will be collection and drop off provided at the nearby train station in Grays.
We pay a day rate of £140 per day and provide Team Members with the opportunity to work on other aspects of the World Wine Awards in May & June 2026.
