Role: Trainee Manager

In this dynamic role, you will be immersed in all aspects of our wine business. Your responsibilities will include growing sales, assisting in daily store operations, accepting deliveries, replenishing stock, preparing for wine tasting events, managing wine club, conducting wine tastings, and other ad-hoc tasks.

Training and Experience Opportunities:

– Sales: Learn to confidently sell wine through various channels, including face-to-face, phone, email, and wine tastings.
– WSET Sponsorship: After six months, you will be eligible for sponsorship up to Level 4.
– Stock and Cellar Management: Gain hands-on experience in managing stock and cellar operations.
– Logistics: Understand the logistics behind a successful wine business.
– Merchandising and Display: Learn the art of effective merchandising and display.
– Marketing: Engage in wine writing and social media marketing.
– Buying: Participate in team tastings to learn how to judge wine quality.

The Ideal Candidate

You should be highly motivated, understand the importance of excellent customer service, and have a friendly and approachable demeanour. This role offers ample opportunities to engage with customers about wine and expand your tasting experience through in-store tastings. You will also have the chance to visit some of our producers in Europe.

WSET Level 3 would be advantageous.

Requirements

– A valid driving license.
– Availability for regular evening and weekend shifts, totalling 40 hours per week.
– Eligibility to work in the UK.
