Overview of role: The Technologist role reports into the Director of Technical & Sustainability and will assist in ensuring highest quality is maintained across all products supplied. The role involves working very closely with Technical team, Buyers, as well as a number of key stakeholders both and externally.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Ensuring products are safe, legal, responsibly sourced and meet specifications & policies.

• Be the expert in your field, achieving technical KPI’s and supporting development of policies & protocols.

• Ensuring required due diligence documents and records are in place and helping to maintain certification against BRCGS Agents & Brokers.

• Be the key point of contact with customers technical teams and manage portals & systems.

• Minimising costs and risk throughout the portfolio and supply chain, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for consistency, legality and quality of products and packaging.

• Management and reduction of customers complaints, incidents and enforcement challenges.

• Developing the sourcing strategy with commercial & sales teams, identifying and developing the best suppliers.

• Ensuring suppliers have technical and ethical audits as required., agreeing action plans to drive improvement.

• Managing and developing long term partnerships with suppliers, improving processes, quality and value.
