The Grange is a distinguished, family-owned English wine producer set on Hampshire’s rolling chalklands, just east of Winchester. Established in 2011, the vineyard thrives on flinty, south-facing slopes, producing elegant, expressive wines. Rooted in generations of stewardship, the estate is run by the descendants of the Baring family, who share a passion for crafting exceptional wines that reflect the land’s unique character.

Sales began in 2018, and in 2022, a state-of-the-art 200-tonne winery was built to expand production. With 25 acres of vines and a growing portfolio of contract winemaking clients, the stage is set for growth – are you the person to ignite that growth?

The Role and its responsibilities

Building on the strong foundations already laid, this senior sales role provides a fantastic opportunity to create a comprehensive, national and international sales strategy for this very premium English brand and be responsible for implementing that strategy across all territories, channels and routes to market.

Key responsibilities will be:

To grow the brand in the UK and in export markets through existing and new networks across wholesale, On and Off trade and direct-to-consumer.

To conceive and conduct the necessary market research and analysis to develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive the growth that aligns with the business’ objectives.

Work closely with marketing, production, and finance teams to ensure cohesive strategies and optimal product development and product pipelines.

To provide timely and accurate sales information and forecasts to enable appropriate financial reporting and ensure profitable growth.

Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Develop, train and lead the necessary team to deliver the sales strategy.

Set clear performance metrics, monitor progress, and implement initiatives to improve sales performance and achieve targets.

The Ideal Person

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, eager to become a key part of our professional and welcoming senior management team at The Grange Hampshire. With strong numerical and commercial skills, you’ll be able to think strategically while keeping a sharp focus on the details. You’ll communicate clearly and confidently, building relationships across the business. Regular travel across the UK and internationally will be a key part of the role, offering exciting opportunities to help us grow and expand our reach.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive sales experience
  • Proven experience of sales strategy development, commercial development and senior leadership
  • A proven network of UK trade contacts
  • International wine sales
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tools (SAP, Salesforce, HubSpot.)

Location

The successful candidate will need to be in the winery in Hampshire on a regular basis as and when required but beyond that the working arrangements can be flexible.
