Marketing Manager

Artelium, a contemporary English wine estate nestled in the scenic Sussex countryside, is renowned for crafting extraordinary wines and creating memorable experiences. As we expand our presence in the fast-growing English wine market, we’re seeking a hands-on, proactive, and results-driven Marketing Manager to join our small, ambitious team.

In this pivotal role, you will develop and lead all customer marketing plans and activities, aligning them with our company goals to enhance brand visibility and drive sales growth. You will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy, execution, and measurement, ensuring that every marketing initiative resonates with our audience and contributes to our market position. We’re looking for a marketing professional with a blend of creativity, business acumen, and proven success in luxury goods, wine, or hospitality sectors. Your expertise in both digital and traditional marketing channels will be instrumental in aligning our marketing strategies with our ambitious business goals.

Location:                    Hybrid (Office: Artelium Wine Estate, Sussex, BN6 8SA)

Hours of work:        Full time – although part-time would be considered

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy & Development: Develop and execute the Artelium marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with our brand identity and business goals. Create and implement compelling brand stories across all channels that enhance customer engagement and sales growth.
  • Campaign Management: Lead the development and execution of marketing campaign strategies, ensuring they meet brand and commercial objectives within agreed timelines and budgets. Optimize campaigns based on performance data to ensure maximum effectiveness and ROI.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage and grow our digital presence, including the website, social media, and email marketing. Develop strategies for SEO, SEM, content marketing, and paid advertising to enhance online visibility and customer acquisition. Own digital and social reporting, presenting insights in weekly meetings and suggesting actions to improve performance.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Oversee the creation of high-quality visual and written content that reflects Artelium brand values and resonates with our target audience. Be passionate about the written word, with strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
  • CRM & Customer Communications: Manage the growth and maintenance of the CRM database, ensuring effective market communications, including email marketing and social media platforms. Coordinate customer and team communications, maintaining consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Market Research & Consumer Insights: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive insights. Use data-driven analysis to inform marketing strategies and make informed decisions on product positioning and messaging.
  • Partnerships & Collaborations: Identify and manage strategic partnerships with influencers, media, and industry stakeholders to amplify the Artelium brand and drive business growth. Coordinate collaborations that align with our brand values and marketing objectives.
  • Event Marketing & Promotion: Develop and execute marketing plans for private and public events, ensuring maximum exposure and participation. Collaborate with the hospitality team to enhance the customer experience through innovative event promotion.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve business objectives. Track and report on marketing spend, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • eCommerce & Retail Marketing: Collaborate on and implement seasonal marketing campaigns, working with the team to drive online sales conversion. Manage user experience and engagement across all digital channels. Analyse traffic and conversion sources, feeding insights into marketing actions and promotional offers.
  • Trade Events & Networking: Organize, attend, and host wine trade-focused events, building campaigns that track and analyse customer interaction. Develop messaging for product launches and key brand moments, building a network in the UK and international wine trade.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with senior management, hospitality, and sales teams to ensure marketing strategies align with overall business objectives. Maintain and communicate a monthly marketing activity calendar and ensure all activities adhere to brand guidelines, optimising the brand experience.

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a marketing management role, preferably within the luxury, hospitality, or wine industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns that drive brand growth and achieve KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing.
  • Exceptional storytelling and content creation skills, with an eye for design and detail.
  • Experience with marketing analytics tools and the ability to derive insights from data to inform strategies.
  • A relevant degree in marketing, business, or a related field; additional certifications in digital marketing or wine education (e.g., WSET) are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent user of eCommerce and eMarketing tools, MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint), Photoshop, Google Analytics, and social media marketing.
  • Clean UK driving license and access to own vehicle preferred.
