Exton Park is an award-winning English Sparkling Wine producer, located just to the East of Winchester, in Hampshire’s South Downs National Park. With a 60-acre single-vineyard, state-of-the-art winery and new promotional building all located on one site, we are a true single-estate producer. Our focus is on quality, provenance, and sustainability and our wines are listed in some of the top premium retailers and finest restaurants in the UK.

We are excited to be expanding our sales team and are recruiting for a London Trade Sales position to focus exclusively on London on and off-trade sales.

This is an exciting, fast-paced role within a small, collaborative team. We are therefore looking for a pro-active and committed individual, who is extremely passionate about English Sparking Wine, is demonstrably sales-focused, driven, and keen to develop their career with Exton Park. The successful candidate should have a clear track record of wine sales and delivering growth and have a strong list of contacts within the London on and off trade.

The position is field based, within the greater London area, so the successful candidate should be located in or near London and be comfortable working remotely. Regular travel to Exton Park will also be required.

Role Responsibilities

  • To develop and manage new and existing on and off-trade accounts, ensuring annual and monthly targets are met, with specific responsibility for the London area.
  • In close collaboration with the Commercial Director and UK Brand Ambassador, plan and deliver an agreed strategy to target and service premium on trade and premium and independent off trade customers in London.
  • Represent the Exton Park Vineyard brand and business with a passionate and professional approach.
  • Support key customers within the London area to successfully sell and promote Exton Park wines; maintaining excellent working relationships to build brand impact.
  • Report sales progress and updates to the Commercial Director, ensuring agreed targets, priorities, and deadlines are met.
  • Share competitor analysis, customer insights, and market feedback across the team.
  • Support the sales team with relevant tasks and initiatives (such as tastings & events); contributing to wider business goals.

  • Sales-Focused & Driven – a passion for wine sales is a key requirement for the role. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate clear drive, ambition, and a track record for converting customers and growing sales.
  • Communication – able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Commercial Acumen/Business Awareness – able to showcase a comprehensive understanding of the wine industry and relevant channels, and to demonstrate how individual performance impacts on wider business goals.
  • Relationship Management – evidence of successfully building and maintaining strong working relationships within the wine industry with commercial success.
  • Customer Commitment – examples of successful customer/consumer management, employing a proactive, confident and flexible approach.
  • Personal Initiative – able to demonstrate ability to work on own initiative to develop opportunities and meet business goals.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Able to demonstrate detailed broad-range wine knowledge; minimum WSET Level 3 or Certified Sommelier (required)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in customer-facing/account management roles within the UK wine industry (required)
  • Evidence of in-depth knowledge of the English wine industry (specific experience working within the English wine industry is advantageous)
  • Thorough understanding of the UK on-trade and off-trade (both premium & independent)
  • Highly motivated with the ability to develop opportunities without close supervision.
