London Sales Manager - Highly Reputable Wine Agency

We are working with a very successful and trusted wine business who are considered to have one of the finest and most targeted portfolios out there. Due to an increase in sales in the London area the team are now looking to bring in a new member to sell to the Premium On Trade (and some indie Off Trade) in and around the capital.

They are a highly professional and friendly group and you will be handed your own set of active accounts and will be expected to nurture and grow them. In addition it would also be an advantage if your own contact book can open new doors.

Base salary level: £45k – £58k, Bonus 10%, Wine Allowance, Company pension contribution, Contribution to WSET Courses.

 

 

Job Purpose Summary

 

To achieve ambitious sales targets by promoting the the portfolio to existing as well as new customers and develop strong working relations with those accounts in order to sustain and increase sales.

 

Responsibilities

  • Achieve budgeted sales targets – both volume and value.
  • Promote and develop the prestige wine portfolio throughout the defined area with effective management and development of existing relationships across multiple segments – Hotels, Restaurants, Clubs and Fine Wine Retail.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve distribution and revenue growth objectives set out as part of the London Team strategy.
  • Manage key customer partners to ensure ongoing relationships and to effectively maintain and expand distribution of these accounts.
  • Work closely with internal stake holders – Brand Management, Customer service, Communications, Stock control and Credit Control.
  • Focus on new business, working collaboratively across the team and the wider business.
  • Work collaboratively and in conjunction with other Sales Channels – in particular Fine Wine and Wholesale.
  • Principal & Winery visits – host visiting winery partners in market with appropriate account and prospect visits. This will also involve some travel to wineries with appropriate customers.
  • Effectively use all the business tools available to plan, monitor, report and analyse accounts performances.
  • Deliver excellent training and education for trade and consumers alike where necessary.
  • Demonstrate initiative and interest in increasing brand and product knowledge

Skills & Education

  • Education to degree level, within a marketing or business-related discipline is desirable.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively present and articulate plans to win the hearts and minds of the Sales team, with the ability to influence brand owners and stakeholders.
  • Good thinker and storyteller, blending the emotional, empathetic side of wine with commercial pragmatism.
  • Computer literate in the use of Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Another language (French or Italian or Spanish) is a plus.

 

Remuneration/Location

  • 10% discretionary bonus linked to performance.
  • Wine Allowance.
  • WSET Course Contribution.
  • Remote Based with occasional team meeting at Head Office (30 mins North of London)
  • You must be based in or close to London to successfully do this role.
