Junior Designer - Edinburgh
About role
Based in our beautiful central Edinburgh office, your main responsibilities will be devising and executing creative print layouts, and supporting the team on a diverse range of design tasks. The successful candidate will be passionate about print, with a proven ability to create eye-catching editorial layouts, often using limited original assets. Working closely with our senior designers and editorial team in a fast-paced production environment, this role offers excellent opportunities for skills development, professional progression and genuine creative expression.
Key responsibilities
- Devising and executing print layouts for our stable of magazines
- Working with colleagues in the creative team and other stakeholders on wider design projects
- Briefing/commissioning external illustrators and photographers
- Design-related admin tasks, such as uploading digital content
About you
- The successful candidate will be passionate about print, with a proven ability to create eye-catching editorial layouts, often using limited original assets.
- Graduate degree or equivalent in design or a related subject
- A working knowledge of the technical aspects of designing for print
- Excellent organisation and time management abilities
Skills and experience
- Professional experience in a print design environment
- Experience of working with freelance illustrators and other contractors
- An understanding of, and passion for, food and drink
- An interest in illustration or photography
