IWC Marketing Manager - Amersham

Established in October 2024, IWC Events Ltd is a small but fast-growing independent family owned business and the owner of the world’s leading wine competition, the International Wine Challenge.

Founded in 1984, the International Wine Challenge has been setting the global benchmark for wine quality for more than 40 years.
Each year, wines from over 50 countries are judged by 400+ international experts: Masters of Wine, sommeliers, buyers, importers and producers – through meticulous blind tasting and debate at every stage.

IWC medals are a guarantee of credibility. They tell the trade, the press and consumers that a wine has excelled under the most demanding conditions. At the IWC, we go beyond awarding medals: we help great wines get noticed, stocked and sold.

The Role

We are now on an ambitious and very exciting growth path which is set to revolutionise the way the IWC is run and this means we need an equally dynamic and forward thinking Marketing Manager to join our small but perfectly formed team.

This is a senior position and we are looking for someone who is a strategic thinker and excellent communicator who will have the knowledge and skills to promote the International Wine Challenge and raise the profile of the brand on a global scale.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing a comprehensive global marketing plan for the IWC
  • Ensuring that all communications adhere to clear brand guidelines
  • Creating professional and effective brand assets which can be used by the team, our entrants, our sponsors and retailers
  • Creating engaging and dynamic content to showcase and promote the IWC at its finest.
  • Executing an effective entry campaign across all IWC broadcast channels
  • Working closely with the web team to make sure the IWC website content is maintained as an engaging resource with up to date content
  • Data acquisition, segmentation and management
  • Management and content creation for all IWC platforms – social media, broadcast mailer platforms, website, promotional event materials etc
  • Regular reporting back on effectiveness of campaigns and campaign platforms with analysis of results and strategy adaptations as and when needed.
  • Extensive experience in marketing (traditional, digital and social)
  • Used to strategic and innovative thinking when it comes to brand management
  • Ideally with a drinks related background and a good understanding of wine
  • Technically savvy – knowledge and experience of website development and back end management as well as management and use of broadcast tools such as Dotdigital and Mailchimp
  • Fully up to date social media skills and knowledge on how to get the best result from each platform
  • Creative when it comes to developing engaging content that works and drives traffic / conversion
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Ideally speaks international languages with French, Spanish or Italian being particularly useful in addition to fluent spoken and written English.
  • A team player with a positive can-do attitude

The ideal candidate will ideally possess the following skills, experience, qualifications and qualities:

Marketing qualification
Minimum 5 years experience working in the wine industry in a similar role

Salary consummate with experience
