H&S SPECIALIST - GLASGOW

A unique opportunity to lead and support the development and implementation of Bacardi’s Global Sustainability and Safety programs: Good Spirited and Safety First, within the 8 sites (whisky and gin distilleries, maturation sites plus bulk and bottling operations) which constitute UK Supply.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Develop and deliver proactive Safety programs which influence culture and behaviours to achieve an incident free work place
•Achieve and maintain accreditations that confirm our commitment to Health & Safety programmes which meet our stakeholder obligations in full
•Achieve and maintain full compliance with legislative requirements for all sites.
•Develop workforce at all levels to an appropriate set of clearly defined Health & Safety competencies.
•To align our organisation and structure with Bacardi EHS Strategy.
•Achieve the aim of zero LTA’s through site safety initiative programmes.
•To ensure compliance with company change management process to assess all EHS impacts
•To embed/implement Behavioural Safety Programme
•Develop site safety management system through HAZOP, human factor assessments, hierarchical task analysis etc.
•Participate and lead where appropriate Process safety, PTW improvement initiatives
•Ensure that all policies, procedures and guidance are developed fully and implemented at all sites
•Participate in audit programme to ensure that the requirements of the EHS management systems are being achieved.
•Ensure that identified EHS training needs are delivered to defined schedule.
•Liaise with all levels of staff and contractors on matters relating to EH&S
•Effectively communicate all EHS issues to relevant parties
•Liaise with external enforcement authorities regarding legal compliance.
•Maintain and update COMAH Safety reports in line with regulatory requirements.
•Ensure that an effective action tracking mechanism is in place to address all EHS issues
•Provide support for the identification and assessments of EHS Capex requirements.
•Act as EHS contact for projects and initiatives throughout the company
•Maintain relevant KPI’s to track and routinely report all HSE issues
•Ensure the implementation of all site safety initiatives to achieve the set KPI’s
•Reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every opportunity in operations and projects
•Promote correct HSE behaviours through personal example

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

•NEBOSH diploma or equivalent degree
•CMIOSH (or working towards)
•Minimum of 5 years EHS functional experience in manufacturing or process industries
•Knowledge and experience of working in a high risk operational environment
•Knowledge and experience of Leading Cross Functional Project Teams to deliver EHS initiatives across a business
•Process Safety background / experience.
