Description

As technical expert, you will lead and develop our team of professionals to help maintain employee relations and cultivate a culture that promotes productivity, creativity, innovation, and growth.

You will support the Senior Leadership team to formulate, oversee and implement the people agenda to include HR policies and procedures, compliance, Talent Acquisition and retention, compensation and benefits, and employee development.

The role works in close collaboration with the business to improve employee retention and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion, manage, support and coach the Au people team to continue with the focus areas of Talent and HR
  • Drive and support the current agenda of Talent to broadly include hiring, onboarding and development.
  • Drive and support the current agenda of HR and compliance to broadly include employee relations, policy and procedure
  • Identify and drive the missing elements of the people agenda during the period of growth and professionalisation.
  • Support and coach of the Senior and Line Manager groups.
  • Work in partnership to help SLT to develop and deliver their people Plans.
  • Work with the SLT to generate and maintain the annual headcount plan for current and future business needs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives (to budget) to support performance management, talent/succession management, compensation and benefits, employee communication (Internal & External), Employee Relations and Employee Engagement & Retention.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee relations and provide guidance on employment law.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Handle ER issues including complex cases.
  • Role model cross functional working, collaboration and thinking across the business.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processes.
  • Facilitating and championing employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Leading employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure that they are familiar with People policies and procedures, whilst identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
  • Coach and build Managers to improve team performance.
  • Report on key aspects of people data using data to inform business decisions and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and applying best practice to areas of identified improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Accountable For

 

  • Implementing best practice People interventions
  • Generating and implementing annual People Plans
  • Ensuring HR compliance with appropriate regulations and standards.
  • Working to a defined budget.
  • Supporting and upskilling Managers with people management skillset, ensuing consistency and ownership.
  • Generating people data and metrics – informing business decision making.
  • Defining and implementing employee engagement activities aligned to employee engagement or brand activations.
  • Delivery of co-ordinated employee communications.
  • Direct line management and development of Talent and HR team.

Essential Skills & Experience

 

  • Level 7 CIPD
  • Experienced in HR / People in a fast-paced environment with a thorough understanding of employment law and compliance in the UK.
  • An innovative, forward-thinking mindset to create, consult, and engage to develop and implement people plans and strategies and drive action and change.
  • Organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask…the ability to get shit done – roll sleeves up and operate in a fast pace, agile environment.
  • Flexible, resilient and able to deal with ambiguity.
  • The ability to switch easily between operational and high-level thinking.
  • ” Culture champion,” facilitating excellent communication and employee engagement.

Preferred Skills & Experience

 

  • Experience in founder led business
  • Experience in a business which is quickly scaling and changing.
  • Strong business and financial skills, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • An understanding of employment law, tax, and compliance in geographies outside of the UK.
