Assistant Brand Manager, Fortified Wine Portfolio

 

Department:                        Brand Management

Reporting to:                       Senior Brand Manager, Fortified Portfolio

Responsible for:                 Assisting the Senior Brand Manager

 

Job purpose summary:    Working within the Brand Management team, reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, this role is responsible for the operational day-to-day and assisting in the implementation of the brand and sales plans.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Brand Manager in implementing all brand activities timely, successfully and within budgets.
  • Support the Senior Brand Manager with event and partnerships management.
  • Maintain all brand collaterals libraries.
  • Maintain (or create when necessary) solid sales tools and presentations for internal and external use.
  • Organise travel arrangements for principles and co-ordinate market visits.
  • Organise customer trips as required.
  • Monthly reporting to the senior manager on brand performance and new/loss listings.
  • Competitions and awards entries.
  • Manage existing POS range and stock and create new POS items where relevant.
  • Support in the creative development and installation of window displays, outdoor spaces, gardens and other branded space takeover.
  • Attend and represent the brands at tastings, trade, and consumer events.
  • Deliver staff training & tastings (working closely with the Snr BM & sales team).
  • Ambassadorial & prospective field work (working closely with the Snr BM & sales team).
  • Analysis of internal customer database to identify leads for the sales team.
  • Monitor competitor activity in each of the key sales channels, looking to identify key competitor performance, opportunities, and threats.
  • Management of direct-to-consumer initiatives , including business development and administrative duties.
  • Management of sampling requests and customer complaints (cost allocations, data saving and replacement orders fulfilment).
  • Administration tasks as appropriate.

 

Knowledge and experience required

  • The ideal candidate will have a marketing background, a proven interest in food and wine.
  • The successful candidate will have some knowledge and experience of the UK drinks and hospitality sector as well as an understanding of the UK wine market and its competitor set.

 

Skills and education

  • Education to degree level is desirable.
  • Holds excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluent in French or Italian or Spanish is a plus.
  • Engaging storyteller to win hearts and minds internally and externally.
  • Organised and analytical.
  • Must be computer literate in the use of Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

 Remuneration, Hybrid Working

  • Salary up to £28k depending on experience
  • Package includes bonus + pension
  • This person must be in the office at least 3 days per week. Due to the nature of the wine industry there are a lot of events this person will be expected to attend – this is a significant and important part of the role.
  • The office is in Hertfordshire (30 mins by Train from Central London)
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (No Work Visa Sponsorship available)
