As a Northern Area Sales Manager, you will come from a strong negotiating drinks sales environment with a proven success in sales. You have a good level of wine knowledge, ideally educated to a minimum of WSET level 3. Be an excellent communicator who is commercially aware. You need to be self-motivated and have a strong desire to succeed.

This role is to represent the Bon Coeur portfolio to an expanding and developing account base of on-trade customers across the North.  Working alongside an already established team of sales professionals. You will have strong IT skills, be a good networker and work well within a team and under your own initiative.

Core Customer Channels:

On-Trade – leading hotels, gastro pubs, restaurants, venues throughout the North.

You will use your charisma, authority, enthusiasm and wine knowledge to build new relationships and enhance existing ones across the account base to strengthen partnerships between Bon Coeur and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Targets: Manage and grow an extensive account base to deliver an agreed volume and margin in line with key priorities and KPI targets.
  • Relationship Building: Establish new long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships between Bon Coeur, the on-trade sector, and key hospitality professionals.
  • Business Development and Prospecting: Implement and maintain a rolling new business prospect database, regularly tracking and reviewing, and reporting converted accounts monthly. Gain new accounts, distribution and listings.
  • Brand Building: Execute specified brand development projects, new product & launches. Organise lunches, our own Wine Academy Programme, take customers on trips in the UK and abroad.
  • Ambassadorial Duties: Sales pitches, masterclasses, staff training, events, dinners, trade tastings.  Enthusiasm to expand your wine knowledge and help run WSET courses will also be an advantage.

 Knowledge and Experience and Qualifications

  • It will be essential to demonstrate a strong commitment to and knowledge of the premium wine sector.
  • Experience of working in a wine-focused environment and good level of wine knowledge desired.
  • Previous experience as a Sales account executive or business development manager will be an advantage
  • WSET level 3 or above is desirable. Ongoing training and support will be provided to continue further development.

Other

Frequent travel is required in this role. Late night and evening working is also a requirement in line with the needs of the customer. Whilst your focus will be on increasing revenue, there will be times when you are expected to be flexible in your position to help with project and account management workload.

Job Type – Permanent in the field sales

  • Salary – Competitive salary, sales commission & bonus package based on experience and performance.

  • 25 days holiday excluding public holiday – increase to 30 days after two years (at the discretion of the Directors).
