On Friday 2 October 2026, the drinks industry is coming together online for Face It Together Social Media Day, marking 140 years of The Drinks Trust. Wine Jobs UK is taking part, and we’d like you to join us.
What is Face It Together Social Media Day?
The Drinks Trust has asked people and businesses across the industry to post on the same day, using the hashtag #FaceItTogether140 and the theme “Together through every challenge, since 1886”.
The aim is to show the industry standing together, raise awareness of the challenges people in drinks face and the support that’s available, and raise money so the Trust can keep helping.
How to take part
- Post your support. Share a message, a selfie or a short video with #FaceItTogether140.
- Share your story. Say why the Trust, or the people in this industry, matter to you or your business.
- Tag others. Ask colleagues, friends and suppliers to join in and do the same.
- Donate if you can. Donations fund the Trust’s support for people in our industry: donate to The Drinks Trust.
Who is The Drinks Trust?
The Drinks Trust is the drinks industry’s own charity, and it has been supporting people in the trade since 1886. It offers financial assistance, emotional support and opportunities to grow for people who work, or have worked, in drinks. That includes:
- Financial help when life takes an unexpected turn
- Wellbeing support, including talking therapies, help with sleep and mindful drinking
- Training and career development, including funded courses and career guidance
- A support line on 0800 915 4610, with WhatsApp (07418 360 780) and email ([email protected]) too
To get help you need to live in the UK, be over 18 and work in the industry now or have done in the past, whether for years or a few months. People planning a career in drinks can apply too. The Trust’s website has an eligibility checker.
Looking for work? The Trust can help with that too
Job hunting can be one of the harder times in anyone’s career, and it’s an area where the Trust does a lot of practical work.
Its DEVELOP programme co-funds or fully funds training for people who want to build a career in drinks and hospitality, then helps match them with employers. Wine Jobs UK has been one of the DEVELOP partners since we announced our partnership with the Trust in 2024. The Trust also runs a careers resource hub.
We also send the Trust regular jobs updates to share with members who are looking for work, and the Trust supports the Spotlight Jobs on our homepage.
If you’re looking for your next role, you can browse the latest jobs on Wine Jobs UK or sign up to our weekly newsletter for 20 new jobs in your inbox every Wednesday.
Why we’re taking part
Wine Jobs UK launched in 2022. The Drinks Trust has been doing this since 1886, so we’ve some catching up to do.
Every week we list the roles this industry runs on: sommeliers, shop staff, winemakers, sales reps, buyers, warehouse teams and everyone in between. Behind each of those jobs is someone who might one day lose work, fall ill, or just need someone to talk to. The Trust is there for them, and it’s funded by the industry it serves.
We’ve supported the Trust from the start and we’re glad to be doing it again this Friday.
Join us on Friday
On 2 October, post with #FaceItTogether140, tag a few people from the trade and, if you can, make a donation. We’ll be posting on LinkedIn, Facebook, X and Bluesky throughout the day, so come and find us.
Together through every challenge, since 1886.
