GROUP FINANCIAL REPORTING ACCOUNTANT - Cumbernauld
We’re looking for a Group Financial Reporting Accountant to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting across the Group. This is a great opportunity to join our Group Finance function, partnering with teams across the business to ensure our reporting is accurate, timely and aligned to current accounting guidance and the Group Finance Manual.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITY
You’ll support the delivery of the statutory financial reporting process, ensuring the planning, compliance, accuracy and completeness of Group and subsidiary statutory accounts. You’ll play a key role in meeting legal and accounting requirements, delivering high-quality reporting on time and supporting reporting to the Audit Committee.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Group Tax team to prepare the necessary disclosures for the Group and individual subsidiary statutory accounts.
• Assist with the delivery of the group consolidation of the year end statutory financial reporting process ensuring compliance, completeness, and accuracy of all information.
• Lead the day-to-day management of the statutory reporting process within the Group, ensuring appropriate guidance is issued to local finance teams and the relevant central finance functions are engaged in the process, and aware of key deadlines.
• Build relationships with the external auditors to ensure all audit requirements are delivered in line with the statutory reporting timetable.
• Develop and maintain technical expertise across all areas of statutory reporting to support the delivery of financial reporting and related team and functional initiatives, including providing training and guidance to local finance teams and new joiners.
• Support the development and ongoing maintenance of the Group Finance Manual, ensuring it remains up to date and reflects the changing business needs and regulatory environment.
• Provide financial reporting support in respect of project requirements across the Group, including areas such as The Finance Manual, acquisition accounting, corporate structure, accounting policy changes etc.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You’ll be a qualified accountant with a genuine interest in financial reporting and a desire to continually develop and keep your technical knowledge up to date. Experience or knowledge of FRS 102 would be an advantage. You’ll be confident working with numbers, able to communicate clearly and comfortable building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. You will be confident working within a team to find solutions to problems and to establish improved ways of working.
