RESPONSIBLE FOR:
No direct reports, but supervisory and training duties are occasionally required.

To be responsible for tasks related to high quality sparkling wine production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out all winery production operations accurately and in a timely fashion. These production activities will include working with both wine in tank and bottled stock.
- To deputise for the Senior Cellar Hand as operator of the disgorging and bottling lines when required.
- Train junior staff and new starters on winemaking tasks to the point where they could work with supervision.
- Able to operate cross flow filter and heat exchanger.
- Act as shift supervisor at harvest if required by line manager.
- Extras hours and complete flexibility over working days is required at crucial times of the year, especially Harvest (October).
- To work in collaboration with all members of the winery team to ensure smooth operation of the winery and a positive work environment.
- To maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment at all times and act as a role model in that regard for temporary staff.
- To work at any of the Nyetimber production facilities as required.
- To show initiative in keeping up to date with personal training records and updates to winery Standard Operating Protocols and Risk Assessments (SOPRAs).
- To undertake any prescribed training as required.
- To act as a positive ambassador of Nyetimber when interacting with external parties.
- Able to speak passionately and expertly about wine production at Nyetimber.
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and any other reasonable management request.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a practical, hands-on environment (production, manufacturing, food & drink, agriculture or similar), or clear evidence of transferable skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills in a structured production environment.
- Ability to work reliably as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a collaborative and respectful workplace.
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Commitment to working safely, cleanly, and responsibly at all times.
- Flexibility to work additional hours and varied days during busy periods, particularly harvest.
- Genuine interest in wine, craftsmanship, and being part of a luxury British wine brand.
