Category Manager - Cheltenham

We have an awesome opportunity for an experienced Category Manager with a passion for FMCG. Working for a dynamic, fun, wine company, this role would lead on uncovering actionable insights within both category and consumer led data and driving the focus brands to enable growth.

Reporting into the Head of Brands (Marketing), you would be working across a number of focus brands, each with a unique proposition that creates a wealth of opportunities to grow their position in the market. They invest in retailer and Nielsen wine category data to enable you to create compelling insights and motivating rationale to secure and grow their brands position and distribution opportunities across Grocery retail. They also invest in a consumer research online platform that helps them to deliver additional consumer led insight, supporting their brand campaigns and retailer positioning.

The role…

  • Monthly reporting on wine category insights
  • Using retailer data to create compelling and specific action-based insights for 2 major grocery retailers
  • Working with the marketing and sales teams to develop the brand rationale in store
  • Supporting marketing with consumer led insight development
  • Lead the category input and be a proactive and valuable member of the sales and marketing team
  • Drive the focus brands forward to reach their full potential in the market.

You…

  • A passion for insights and understanding of the wine category
  • Previous experience as a category manager, working with Nielsen data (grocery category), Dunnhumby and Nectar platforms
  • Interest in consumer insights and behaviour and how they are driving the category data
  • Strong Powerpoint, Excel and presentation skills, with the ability to share data/insights in a compelling way
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Confident to lead the category input and be a proactive and valuable member of the sales and marketing team
  • Ability to blend multiple data sources to create actionable insights and strong rational for action
  • Tenacious and willing to get stuck in, agile and proactive
  • Commercially savvy
  • Strong communicator who enjoys collaboration
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

This is a remote/ hybrid role, ideally one day per week in the office in Cheltenham.
