Supply Planner – Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover circa 12 months)
Asahi UK are looking for a Supply Planner to join the business on a 12-14 month Fixed-Term Contract.
The Supply Planner (Keg Planner) is responsible for managing the UK owned population with a value of £31m. The principle aim of the role is to oversee the end-to-end planning of kegs to ensure sufficient kegs are available to support production requirements at EU breweries. This includes both short term (13 week) keg projections and RTI monitoring, as well as longer term strategies for ensuring sufficient kegs for peak periods, which may include seeking alternative sources of supply (e.g., rental kegs). In addition, this role will play an important part in putting together the annual capex requirements for new keg purchases for all UK owned kegs with a budget of approx. £2m per annum, and then managing the delivery schedule closely with suppliers.
Key Accountabilities
Keg Planning – EU Breweries
- Management of UK owned keg population with a value of £31m.
- Long term planning of keg returns to EU breweries
- Managing weekly planning process with Italian brewery, ensuring timely communication of forecasted keg dispatches and arrivals.
- Working closely with the brewery and UK Supply Planning team to ensure sufficient kegs are available to meet 13-week keg production plans.
- Investigate shortfalls and recommend solutions to improve supply.
- Monitoring and reporting on RTI from the market, with recommendations on how to improve/increase rates of return.
- Manage relationship Keg management agency (B&M).
Long Term Keg Strategy and Capex planning
- Develop and maintain a long-term keg tracking tool, reporting on future supply for peak periods flagging any shortages or disruption to production. This may involve developing the current system or recommending a new improved system with the view of improved efficiency and accuracy
- Working with the UK Supply Planning Manager and finance, annual and quarterly review of, capex requirements on keg, cask and locator board purchases for UK breweries and all UK owned kegs with a budget of approx. £2m
- Identify potential contingency plans including rental keg options
- UK Brewery keg management – work with UK breweries to improve keg management process.
- Manage relationship with keg suppliers, raising necessary POs and monitor deliveries to ensure purchases are delivered to schedule
- Manage Locator board purchases and annual capex requirements.
- Develop ability to track locator population to ensure we have sufficient available to support empty keg movements
Experience and Key Attributes Required
- Degree is desirable, preferably in a relevant area
- Experience managing/planning keg/assets in the drinks industry advantageous
- Preferable to have supply planning, sales, and operational planning experience in an FMCG environment
- Advanced Excel for reporting and analysis
- A background and understanding of planning tools and systems, knowledge of SAP, Adaptive Planning and SO99 being advantageous
- Supplier relationship management experience
