Sales Executive - Rugby

We have recently invested in a new £23m facility in Rugby based at the Europark just off the A5 (A5 Watling Street, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Rugby Warwickshire. CV23 0AJ). Two of our stills in Rugby are amongst the largest gin stills in Europe at 15,000L. In addition, we will retain and operate from our heritage site at our existing Langley Distillery in Birmingham.

This role is primarily an office-based Sales Executive sales role. It is expected that the incumbent would travel occasionally to meet customers but predominantly work from the Rugby site. The incumbent will manage inbound sales calls and enquiries, as well as making outbound sales calls (either over the phone, or where required, in person), and develop sales of premium and base spirits. Responsibilities also include handling in-bound enquiries and helping identify new products and sectors for the business to move into, in line with core values and growth strategy

The Opportunity

Langley Distillery is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Executive to join our dynamic sales team. The Sales Executive will play a crucial role in developing and managing relationships with key customer accounts, ensuring the growth and profitability of Langley Distillery’s products in the market. This position requires a proactive individual, with a drive for results and a natural ability for relationship development, as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and sales skills.

What you will contribute

  • Develop, increase and promote the sales of Langley Distillery’s range of products and services to new and existing customer base, making effective telephone, and where required, face to face sales.
  • Identify and feed back to Senior Management on new products and sectors within the industry that can run in parallel with the existing product list.
  • Responsible for ensuring internal and external customer expectations are managed throughout their interaction with the business.
  • Responsible for issuing pricing to relevant customers whether spot, weekly, monthly or fixed in line with market / company information.
  • Ensure outstanding debts are addressed with finance function and customers ahead of quotations / orders being received.
  • Accountable for proactive growth of business/ geographical area in line with business growth strategy.
  • Ensure business area has an accurate forecast across all products line including new business opportunities.
  • Ensure with coordinators that all business assets, e.g. IBCs are accounted for and returned in line with T&Cs.

What you will bring

  • Experience of handling inbound and outbound sales calls within complex sales processes and willing to work within a B2B sales role which is bulk supply and wholesale driven (some experience of customer facing fields sales calls is desirable but not essential).
  • Alcoholic industry ideally within spirits is desirable (Wine & Spirits Educational Trust (WSET) level 1 qualification or similar would be an advantage).
  • Inclusive communication style to motivate and deliver clear, effective messages across at all levels (and externally). Practices attentive, active listening and has the patience to hear people out, even when he/she disagrees, to enable a balanced objective discussion.

  • Experience of supply chain and customer/supplier interfacing.
  • IT literate and proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
