Wine Lister is looking for an enthusiastic and highly-organised Strategic Marketing Assistant to join its growing team
WHO WE ARE
Wine Lister was founded in May 2016 and has fast become a key player in the fine wine ecosystem, collaborating with the world’s most prestigious wine producers and fine wine trade members, through its fine wine data analysis and strategic consulting.
WHAT WE DO
Using a first-of-its-kind data analysis model, Wine Lister helps wineries and other key players across the fine wine ecosystem to identify opportunities and issues, and works with them to design and implement creative solutions. Wine Lister’s primary activity draws on its expertise and analysis to offer a range of bespoke consulting services to fine wine producers, providing strategic advice from distribution and pricing, to full-service strategic marketing, communications, and event organisation on the UK market.
JOB SUMMARY
Working directly with the Head of Clients & Marketing and other core members of the team, the successful candidate will have a direct impact on growing Wine Lister’s business, as well as that of its clients. You will help to curate and implement both internal marketing strategies as well as those of our clients. The successful candidate should be passionate about fine wine and keen to work with those that produce and sell it. The position will include the planning and creation of content published by Wine Lister (including website text, e-communications, and social media). You will also assist with consulting to our producer clients, helping to plan and execute strategic marketing and communication solutions for some of the world’s leading fine wine properties.

· Start date: May-June 2023
· Salary: From £24,000 per annum, dependant on experience

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Content creation: creating engaging and well-written content for Wine Lister itself, and on behalf of Wine Lister’s strategic communications and marketing clients, including marketing materials and event copy
· Press communications: assistance with writing press releases and securing media coverage for Wine Lister’s clients, as well as for our own new developments
· Marketing: pitching and writing regular marketing content for Wine Lister’s trade and producer emailing list to promote our services and achieve sales leads, evaluating and reporting its success to inform future campaigns
· Strategy: helping to define and implement Wine Lister’s marketing strategy as the company evolves
· Social media: helping to manage Wine Lister’s social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn)
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills: a proven track record of previous writing experience
· Computer skills: general computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (in particular Excel), and ability to grasp use of email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp)
· European languages: native-level English required, French or Italian would be an advantage
ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
The candidate must possess the following characteristics to be an effective addition to the team:
· Highly literate: being able to write engaging, creative content for Wine Lister’s internal communications and on behalf of our consulting clients
· Organised: highly focused, methodical, and rigorous, with precise attention to detail
· Problem solving: able to think on his / her feet to come up with solutions
· Self-starting: able to take initiative, recognise what needs doing, and be motivated to act on it
· Numerate: possessing a good grasp of figures and quantitative analysis with a logical thought process
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Top grades at high school (A at A-Level or equivalent) and relevant degree
· Pre-existing knowledge of wine, particularly the fine wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne (also Italy, Germany, Spain, California, etc.)
· Experience in writing and content planning
· Knowledge of B2B marketing
ALSO HELPFUL…
· Prior experience in a similar marketing or communications role, and/or in the fine wine trade
· Previous business experience and involvement working within a close-knit team
