Senior Business Development Manager - London
Doghouse Distillery in Battersea, London, is looking to appoint an experienced BDM to their sales team as they continue to exponentially grow their exposure in the on-trade within London and surrounding home counties.
The candidate would need to be London-based or nearby and have at least 3 years’ experience selling spirits in the UK market, preferably London. The current sales team consists of a team of three people, and we are planning to aggressively expand our sales team over the next 18 months as we grow. We intend to appoint a sales director in the short term so this role could evolve into a senior management position for those hungry to build a career in the premium, challenger spirits sector.
Our key focus is on recurring revenue and enhancing rate of sale. As a challenger portfolio the role requires a high level of tenacity, but our production process is second to none – full ‘grain to bottle’ with an impressive distillery, we offer strong provenance coupled with excellent commercial support packages for our customers. As such, winning business is very much about being active, getting in front of people and focusing on helping customers meet their needs. Having strong links into premium venue groups and experience lodging and winning larger tenders would be highly regarded. Quick runs would be welcome but the ability to secure larger meaningful traction is key.

Doghouse first starting selling spirits in the market in 2018. We now have a portfolio of 8 premium spirits all made from scratch using local grain sourced in Norfolk. Our portfolio covers 4 categories and the liquid is superior in quality.

The Person
The candidate will be able to show evidence of:
- Extensive experience selling spirits into the UK spirits market (strong London contacts)
- Relationships across the full range of UK routes to market with exceptional relationships in London RTMs;
- A blackbook we can tap into for some easy runs on board
- Tender submission skills and experience
- Established and strong rapport built up over many years with independent venue groups and large national venue groups within the Ontrade;
- Strong reporting skills, attention to detail, methodical organisation and ability to deliver CRM reporting in real time
- Activation strength and ability to role out activations consistently to build brand strength
- Driven by hitting performance targets and maximising bonus
- Confidence and personal demeanor
