OFF-TRADE & E-BUSINESS SALES DIRECTOR - LONDON
POSITION
The Off Trade & E-Business Sales Director at MHUK is a key leadership team level role. Responsible for setting and driving the Commercial agenda, qualitative and quantitative objectives, across all 25 Maisons and across all off-trade sales channels, including e-Business.
This role is responsible for leading a team of direct reports (x3) and a total team of 20 to high performance across Grocery, Specialists & Fine Wine Merchants, Cash & Carry and Convenience, Commercial Development.
The Off Trade & E-Business Sales Director is a member of the UK leadership team and reports into the UK Managing Director.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Set, lead and drive the Off-trade & E-Business Commercial agenda:
• Lead the Off Trade Sales team across Grocery, Specialists & Fine Wine Merchants, Cash & Carry and Convenience, Commercial Development, setting and driving the commercial strategy
• Work closely with internal teams to define clear channel strategies, portfolio focus, pricing & channel strategy, and distribution targets
• Set Sales Budgets and other qualitative and quantitative KPIs
• Rigorously monitor, analyse and report business performance by customer and brand versus Budget and recommend revisions to plans where necessary
• Lead the teams to deliver best in class brand activations and executions
Lead and develop the Off-trade sales team:
• Nurture empowered teams with a growth and entrepreneurial mindset
• Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Lead, Coach and support the development of the direct reports and wider Off Trade team to enable team development and learning
• Support the teams in annual negotiations and Joint Business Planning
• Run regular team meetings to discuss business issues, align on priorities and track progress versus objectives
• Ensure that the team operates within Company policies and guidelines at all times
Act as an inspiring and respected Leader within the organisation and within the industry
• Develop strong networks and relationships with our trade customers at senior management level
• Represent MHUK at industry events
• Foster strong, collaborative relationships with Region, Maisons, and internal teams
• Present regular business updates to European and Global senior management
• Conduct regular trade visits to support the delivery of brand strategies and commercial plans
• Act as a respected leader leading by example and positively contributing to the Commercial team and Company culture
• Actively contribute to the MHUK Leadership Team agenda
Compliance

PROFILE
Education:
• WSET certificate (preferred but not essential)
• Languages: Fluent in English ; proficiency in another language is an advantage.
• Full driving license
Professional experience & know how:
• 10+ years Blue Chip FMCG sales team leadership experience
• Experience of leading a team across Grocery, E-Business, Specialist and Cash & Carry channels
• Deep knowledge of the UK Wines & Spirits industry and UK off-trade
• Experience of delivering ways of working change with positive business impact
• Broad commercial background, across multi channels
• Experience of leading very complex and large scale customer negotiations
• Strong knowledge of Category Management and insight based approach to selling
• Exposure to premium / luxury brands
